Transforming Your Home with Spring-Inspired Color Palettes Finding decor that feels personal and has character is important to me. I appreciate items that reflect an individual's personality or tell a story. Once you discover accessories you love, the interior design will naturally come together. A lot of my decor comes from places I've traveled to. For instance, I frequently visit Breckenridge to ski, so I have a pair of vintage mini skis and some old mountain and ski books I found at a resale bookstore. I also collect matchbooks from different restaurants and hotels. This habit started while studying abroad three years ago, and I've enjoyed collecting them ever since. Additionally, I have two pieces of artwork from a family member that have been passed around the family. I finally got my hands on them, and I'm never letting go of them! Recently, I purchased a waffle-knit throw blanket for my bedroom, which is the best! It's heavy enough to feel like a weighted blanket, but I don't get too hot underneath it while sleeping. I've always loved the idea of a weighted blanket, but they typically made me too warm. Discovering the waffle-knit blanket has been a game-changer for me! I've been slowly redecorating my room to give it a fresh look for the new semester and year. I want my room to feel like a stress-free sanctuary. I want to mix different neutrals and textures to create a cozy atmosphere. The waffle-knit blanket on my bed adds great texture alongside my ruffled cream-toned comforter. Speaking of neutrals, I recently added two ottomans under my window, and I love how they look. They're slipcover ottomans, so I can wash them or switch out the covers whenever possible. Adding baskets for extra storage is a wonderful way to decorate while keeping organized. I enjoy stacking baskets on each other, and they never go out of style. I have one basket for baseball hats and another for my purses. I might have one basket that's a catch-all, but let's ignore that! My nightstand lamps are the cutest! I found the lamp base at Target, and the dark wood warms up the space nicely. The lampshade is also from Target and complements the blank wall behind my bed. I plan to stain the tops of my nightstands with a darker wood finish, but that will be a spring project once the weather gets warmer. I will document the process for you! Waffle-Knit Throw Blankets1.
