Summer Design Trends 2025

Summer Blues

​I've been seeing the color blue everywhere. Not just any shade of blue, but a more muted blue and powder blue. The muted blue color is specifically easy on the viewer's eye and can also open up the space. It gives the room a refresh and can also be the focal point in the room. Whether it's a light powder blue on your walls or a muted blue striped bed comforter, it's the color of the season in the design world! 

Mismatched Wood Tones

​Mismatched wood tones are my favorite trend so far! It adds a less formal feel to the room while still conveying an expensive appearance. Wood furniture and wood pieces are great for any budget. You can get it custom-made, or you can refurbish your wood nightstand or wooden coffee table. I love seeing different wood finishes mixed, such as a dark wood floor paired with a lighter wood finish chair. In my room, I have nightstands with a light wood finish, but my lamp is dark wood, and it looks great paired together! 

The 5th Wall

​This design trend was introduced to me when my brother was working on a new build, and they installed a wood-paneled ceiling. I was amazed at how good it looked. Adding character to a room with a bland ceiling can make a huge difference. It's subtle, but it makes a statement! 

Outdoor Landscape

I love summer, and when it starts getting warm outside, I want to spend every moment outside, at least when it's not humid and sticky out. Haha! I love seeing videos and pictures of people enjoying their spaces outside and seeing what everyone is doing. One of my favorites is seeing people's gardens and the flowers that people have been growing in their backyards. To me, it makes your home even more special when someone is excited about a specific spot in their home. Curating a space with outdoor furniture can also be a great way to enhance your outdoor area. Outdoor furniture and landscape is the best place to make all your DIY dreams come true! There are so many creative and easy ways to make your space the outdoor space of your dreams! 

Outdoor Furniture 

​There are many fun pieces of furniture that people can add to their outdoor areas, but they are not fully utilizing their outdoor spaces. You need to imagine what it would look like in daylight as well as what it would look like when it's dark outside and you have lights on. Outdoor lighting can be harsh and can appear unappealing and uninviting during the day. There are many options for outdoor lighting, rather than having basic string lights across the patio. Sorry!! Some look nice, but many don't.
